From this cause, this fish is called “Angel Fish”. However, because of its beautiful, unique from their smooth, and strength swimming poses, since the beginning of raising the Angel Fish in Europe, This lovely fish is spread out worldwide. Because of their individual charm, Fish lovers around the world fall in love with them and they are one of popular fish until nowadays.

The Angel fish is categorized in Pterophyllum Family, same as Cichlidae, as well as Pompadours, but their shape is alike triangle like a kite, flat body, and high back fin. The origin of this fish is in South America, around the Amazon River basin and Orinoco River. These two rivers is in Venezuela and Brazil. In nature, this fish like to live in the slow-flow water area and weed for their hiding place. They will find the small natural food around the area such as small aquatic insects, water flea, mosquito larva, plankton, and small animals or small fish too. With their unique appearances, the development is not beautiful for human for sure. Many scientists believe that because of the nature: the Angel Fish live along the bank and flood forest of Amazon River, full with weed, roots, and barriers, their body should be flat and they can pass the small paths easily. Their beautiful fin has no problems with these paths because their fin can cling along their body. But, in the other case, whenever the Angel Fish need to use it, it can be strong. If we imagine to the small fish which their size is alike a bite of bigger fish, brutal hunters living in the same river such as Tiger Fish, Souvelnose, Giant Arapima, or Silver Arowana, and fishes like Angel Fish, but their shapes are rounded and tapering like Tetra, which one will be eaten easier? Most hunter fishes with the flat mouth on the side will see that the Angel Fish might be hard to eat because of their shapes. Then the Angel Fish are rarely eaten. And that is the natural smart and the wonderfulness of the fish in Cichlidae, which can develop their shapes impossibly. Moreover, the down patterns of the fish can be their illusion in water very well.

            Humans who live along the Amazon River might know the Angel Fish for a long time. But, the scientist truth of the old world; the first example of Angel Fish was categorized according to taxonomy in Berlin, Germany in the name of Zeus scalare in 1823 from an old dead fish. Almost 100 years later, European people coud see the alive Angel Fish for the first time. In 1911, the fish was discovered in Germany and America later. About the name’s history, the Angel Fish is interested by all-age ichthyology. The family was changed into Platex first and end by Johann Jaccob Heckel, Austrian ichthyology had created the new family to Pterophyllum, Italian language means leaf-shape fin, and the family name was used until present.

            In nature, we can see 3-4 main species of Angel Fish. These are Pterohyllum scalare , Pterohyllum altum , Pterohyllum leopoldi, and Pterohphyllum dumerilli, which some parts of their bodies such as head will be different. The most popular Angel Fish, mostly, was developed from Pterohyllum scalare. The details of each species are indicated below.

Triops Longicaudatus, The Amazing Crustacean.

     For the first time when I saw triops when I went to Chatu Chak market, at that time, it was considered new for me. I had never known it before. Then, suddenly, I felt impress and thought that there will be something interesting for sure because it was so attractive (my personal opinion). In fact, I was impressed in its enthusiastic swimming movements and intending sand-digging as if its origin’s job is digger. I felt relaxed, relieved my stress, relieved my bore of mob, politics, moneyless, rain-falling, and etc. At that time, I didn’t have any knowledge about triops, so after I knew the name, I used “Google”, one of popular search engine, and I could obtain my knowledge about it. Triops or Tadpole Shrimp is small crustacean of the family Branchiopod, relatives of crabs, lobsters, and crayfish. From the outside appearance, triops’ shape is alike horseshoes or king crab if compared to the animals but smaller but there were thin armor around its body. It uses fins and tail to swim. In some species, we could identify the triops by their sex through the length of tail. In the nature worldwide, there are 15 kinds of triops in Southern part of North America, some parts of Africa, Australia, Japan, and Russia. They could reproduction in various weather condition; very hot and cold. Moreover, It can be found in South America, Hawaii, New Caledonia, along to Galapagos Island, land of giants turtles. In some regions of Asia, there also have triops.

    According to the color of triops, generally, indifferent species, the color are green, brown, red-brown, or blacken tone. There are some species which the color is dark bluesky, but only few percent. For instance, Triops cancriformis simplex , most is 1 – 3 inches long, but 4 inches or more in Africa and Europe. Triops was identified and known in 1732. At that time, the scientific name is Apus. Later, the name was changed to triops, which means "Three-eye God". Oops, sorry, it means "three-eye alike" in 1958. In fact, the third eye is the part of the body called Dorsal organ, long section bar, and carapace is flat which cover 2 of 3 parts of thorax. There are 2 – 3 appendages from abdomen. Triops have 35 – 70 pairs of fin for swimming and 2 big teeth ,Although it is frighten and would like to swim around our fingers, it cannot harm us for sure. Don’t be frightened.

    Triops can eat many kinds of food, started from Lemma sp., moss, bacteria, protozoa (amazing), along to living things in naturewhich is smaller that it. It is the main rival of fairy shrimp, mosquito larva, and water flea. But “!@*& #@!$%& !$@#^*” not long, during triops are finding food, birds and frog will happy to eat triops too. It’s true. It’s ecosystem, small animal eat (dead) big animal, or else big animal eat smaller. However, along to the policy of small aquatic animals and weed extermination, especially in Japan, triops are used to exterminate the weed in the rice field. The existence of Triops tell us that there are many small animals which can live, such as a little frog:) because they eat triops, important foundation of Potein nutrient. However, although triops were eaten by many living things, they can spread out and grow through the stream or water source by many living things. For example, triops’ eggs may stick with mud on the bird’s legs. And, when the bird move to find the new place, the eggs will be unleashed from the mud on the bird’s legs and disperse from one place to another. So intelligence....

    The bark of the egg is called cryst. Cryst is impossibly durable to the weather condition, rather than human body. Cryst can stand for the heat up to 98 degree!!! Or nearly boiled water. And after baked at the same temperature, it can be “hatched” in the water.... Oh, impossible, but it’s true. Moreover, cryst can stand to the cold weather very well. And, the egg can be stored for hatch up to 15 years!! (some books state 20 years). That is the reason why triops can live for a long time from Triassic even if there is no development. Scientists then give the name of triops “alive fossil”.....

More than 6 years of spending found Bee Shrimp which is red trunk variegates clear internodes; caused name of Crystal Red Shrimp. The Dwarf Shrimps are prototype of species development for few years. After that outer skinned while shrimps are created with widely white until all white. Standardized grading shrimp depends on white density on outer skin, redness of red segment, and also different colors of blue, dark blue, glossy dark brown or black. Nowadays Dwarf Red Bee Shrimp has various developing species and cost since few dollars to hundreds. However, property does not only one factor of feeding Red Bee Shrimp, because they are very insubstantial from developing species. All makes Red Bee Shrimp is not proper for any chemicals and have to living in quality water with high oxygen. Red Bee Shrimp likes lower acid water; between pH 6.2 – 7.2, and KH or hardness is 3-6 with stability on periods of day. Moreover, feeders should have these fundaments for feeding successful Red Bee Shrimp.

This article is about possible accidents to Arowana in aquarium. Some accidents may occur from feeders’ unintentional behaviors. Some are avoidable if feeders know about the causes of the accidents. This article contains the possible accidents for readers in the friendly style.

According to the word “accident”, whoever would not like to have it. Even beautiful fishery like Arowana, feeders may have opportunities to face the accidents in different situations.

The first accident feeders may have is “jumping”. Arowana is one of fish which likes to jump. So, unpredictable situations, i.e. just only open the food box… Many feeders may feel this experience about small Arowana can unbelievably jump out from food box. The big fish, almost 15 inches long, may have this problem as well. We can consider that we need to be more careful with this accident.

The shock from water surface of Arowana is considered very strong, once feeders feel unbelievable that Arowana has so much force to kick the barricades out, for instance, the plastic net covering the aquarium with an object. But, there was a feeder saw the situation that Arowana jumped and crashed the barricades and collapsed, as well as the Arowana fell to the ground. Especially, at the corner of the aquarium which has no objects, the Arowana can jump out easily. This situation may occur in some occasions, for example, they are frighten when people see them, or close the door with loud sound, etc. Our normal behavior in daily life may unbelievably frighten the Arowana. 

One more thing that feeders should be careful is water substitution in the aquarium. Normally, we don’t open the cap for a long time because just only forget for a moment, you may see frightened fish lay down on the floor. If you see it so late, like you have lunch, in restroom, you may see stiff fish on the floor. Although, mostly, Arowana scares easily and stay at the bottom of the aquarium, in case of jumping out, fish will be in frightening from the opening cap, and they don’t know before that the cap will be opened. But, I’m not sure that the fish will know if we walk to the aquarium and tell them. In brief, if you want to open the cap, avoid suddenly open because fish will be frighten and jump out.

           Moreover, there may be some cases fish will be frightened and jumped out. That is when we catch them to the bag. Whether any purposes; relocate the aquarium, take a photo to upload via Social Network, or even sell them for money, etc., we need to be more careful to grab them. Especially, when the fish are cornered, they have no way to escape and express nervous move. Many fish decide to escape by soaring from the aquarium.  If the fish are quite big and jump out, if the stroke is not good, they may crash against the feeders, and you and the fish may both “knock-out”. So, how to cornered the fish and move them into the bag, you need to be polite. If the fish are cornered, or ready to jump, leave the bag from them. Don’t try to put the bag to the fish because they may be frightened and jump out. You may try to touch their head smoothly because most of the fish like to be touched at their head more than tail. Then slowly use your hand or colander to bring them move in the bag. This method has percentage of successful more than cornered the fish from their tale, that the fish will be easily frightened.

            Pompadours, or Discus (means sphere, which comes from the body’s

appearance) is categorized to Cilhilidae. Pompadours’ origin are in the Amazon’ river basin in South America along the slow stream and shallow location. Pompadours like to stay under the root or the opaque bush.

            In terms of the appearance, Pompadours are categorized to Cichilidae. Their shapes look like a dish and flat like Pterophyllum. The front and back fin arrange into a long row and end at the tail. There are some patterns and colors on their body up to the type. Their origin is in the Amazon in South America. The biggest size is not larger than 7 inches. They like to live in the slow stream and near overcrowd bushes. The ph of water is between 4.6 – 7.5. There are three types;  Symphysodon aequifasciatus (divided into three sub types; Symphysodon aequifasciatus axelrodi ,Symphysodon aequifasciatus aequifasciatus, Symphysodon aequifasciatus haraldi), Symphysodon Discus, and Symphysodon tarzoo, which is a new type established in August 2007.

            This fish is one of the very beautiful fresh-water fish. It is deserve with the designation “Queen of the fish in the aquarium”. Nowadays, there is a development to be more colorful than natural, such as Snake-Skin, five-tone, Rainbow-Skin, Blue Diamond, Dusty pompadour, etc. (In my opinion, I especially like Rainbow one and Snake-Skinn Pompadour most, but are others very beautiful? Thanks so much to Pompadour’s developers worldwide, who are willingly develop many colorful Pompadours) Pompadours are very sensitive with water and weather condition, so they are one of the fish which are raised very hard. We need to use the heater to control the room’s temperature. Hence, caretakers need to pay attention in these sections very much.

           Pompadour’s appearance is round like dish, small mouth, neatly and slowly movement. The full-grown size is around 15-20 centimeters (6-8 inches) long. There are patterns and intensive color like sea fish, which are very beautiful. However, sometime, there are some little fish in the market which are colorful like full-grown one.   That may occur unnaturally color-stimulation by any processes. .

           There are many breeds of Pompadours which are very popular now. For instance, soid color (Blue Diamond, Blue Sky and Red-Eye, Snow White, Redthercoiz, Red & White, etc), and spotted-color which the origin came from Green Pompadour such as Snake-Skin, spotted color through the body. But, nowadays, breed developers in many countries  has developed more colorful spot. Some pompadours have ring spots like jaguar. These are developed from “Royal Blue” and “Royal Green”, very popular in the recent time.

           

          Pompadours like tranquil, It isn’t good to let they live with other kinds of fish or too much Pompadour in the same aquarium. Normally, they are not aggressive, different from others in the same species, except in the breed season. In order that if they live in nature, they will be grudge and the Captain will be aggressive, bully at others. Especially in the narrow place, they don’t like to live with other kinds and always bite each other. However, Pompadours can be raised with Tetra and small Catfish either.

With the struggle for a while, Red Blood Parratfish was born in the world.

    Red Blood Parrot Cichlid look like Cichlid which have very big eyes and very big iris. Sometimes their eyes are not alike sphere. It’s one of their charming, which their eyes are filled with life and emotion. Sometimes they seem angry, sometime humorous. If you want wide swimming area for the fish, you can have sand at the bottom of the aquarium. But a filter is important, because the level of sand will make the aquarium dirty. It is harder to clean. So the good filter's system is necessary. It is better to use an effective filter system in the aquarium or filter tank, such as high performance filter. It allows you to easily culture your fish. Besides, fish in this family prefer water with high hardness level. These kinds of fish like high pH water. Thus you can use Coral Sand to decorate. You can use coral. (But in some country, If you own coral, it is illegal.). However it is hard to find plant that can survive in high pH water because most of aquatic plant can't survive in high pH water. There a little kinds of plant such as Arnubias or Krib. You should set your aquarium like this. The pH is 7.5-9.0.The dH is estimate 10-20 degree. The temperature is 23-28 Celsius degree. You can set temperature by heater in winter and chiller in summer.
